Which picture formats and sizes does Posterjack offer?

  • We process the formats JPG (jpg, jpeg), PNG, BMP, GIF, TIF, (tif, tiff) and single page PDF documents. Generally your digital camera produces these formats. The file size of each image must not exceed 25 MB.
  • If your images are larger or have a different file type please contact us. For custom made orders we charge a fee of £ 0.99 per picture and £ 2.50 per manual order. A manual order is an order via CD-ROM or email. These fees do not apply when ordering your picture via our website!

Which properties does my uploaded picture need to achieve the best possible result?

  • Please submit your pictures in sRGB color, 8-bit.
  • The resolution of your picture determines up to what size it may be printed as a poster. In order to achieve an optimum result, your image should be at least 100 dpi (dots per inch). The bigger the poster size, the higher should be the resolution of your image. But no problem: Our automatic format check works like a traffic light (green for very good, yellow for sufficient and red for not suitable) and shows you if your poster is printable in the size you have chosen. Even after the format check, you can still change the poster size. The format will be then checked again.
  • The minimum resolution for a print on canvas is 80DPI (dots per inch). Your picture on a canvas - we deliver high quality, ready to be hung on a 4 cm wide canvas frame.
  • Note the aspect ratio. The aspect ratio means the ratio of length to width of a picture or poster. In general, the usual aspect ratio is 4:3 or 3:2 (a picture is rarely square). At posterjack.tv you can have these standard formats as well as many special formats, for example, panoramic formats, being printed.
  • Format suitability: Here we examine in which quality the uploaded image in the desired poster size can be printed. Therefore you might have the opportunity to achieve optimal print quality by choosing a different format. The resolution of the printed poster is essentially determined by the number of pixels of the file and the poster size. Generally, the more pixels, the higher the quality of the printed posters.
  • Please note: During the processing of large-format posters our special software forecasts - unlike the print of small-sized photo prints - the number of pixels of the print(extrapolation). This as well as the fact that large posters are usually viewed from a greater distance, causes that even with a smaller number of pixels a premium result can be achieved. In the shopping cart the resolution is being displayed as ""format suitability"" for each image. The rating ranges from ""best"" to ""inappropriate"" and shows you how well your chosen photo is for the poster size.

What do I have to keep in mind when potentially complaining?

  • Transport damage: If, despite the utmost care by us or our service partners, the goods delivered should be damaged, please immediately contact us.
  • Color differences: Maybe on the posters some slight color differences will occur. This can be caused by a slightly different display of the colors on your screen. This may be due to brightness settings, resolution, contrast or your graphic card. Also the limited color space of the print media may play a role. The grayscale for black and white poster are achieved by mixing different colors. Despite our careful printing and constant quality control a tint may occur.
  • Resolution: Large posters, whose artwork's resolution is too low, may on closer inspection have a 'grainy' effect. That means a smaller poster size would improve the quality of the poster. A poster's quality always depends on the quality of the submitted photo.

What kind of products does Posterjack offer and what are their particularities?

  1. Banner

    The material of our 450 g / m² frontlit banner is comparable to a truck tarpaulin, weather-resistant, tear- and scratch-resistant. Furthermore, a brilliant print is achieved. The UV coating ensures a long lasting color, and unlike other tarpaulins are much lighter. The production is extremely important for the future quality of the banner. Printed with the latest 6-color solvent printers. Metal eyelets are fixed within 50cm distance on the comletely lined banner. This procedure later ensures easy hanging, a long-lasting quality and the color of your banner. They may be used as a tarpaulin for indoor and outdoor advertising, as well as a screen on the balcony and all the other great advertising spaces.

  2. Alu Dibond

    Convincing about aluminum Dibond is not only the low weight of the printable plates, but also the high bending strength and stability. The plate consists of a polyethylene core and two thin layers of aluminum. The modern direct printing system with special ink results in a very good quality and color - even under extreme conditions. The colors are non-toxic, environmentally friendly and free of any solvents.

  3. Acrylic glass

    The PE-coated special surface causes a brilliant white color and a long lasting color-fastness. Even fingerprints remain hidden on this panel. The panels are resistant to all kinds of weather conditions and UV radiation and may be used as billboards or signs, both indoors as well as outdoors. Design your living space or your presentation in a whole new way. We also offer the mounting, which allows you to fix the sign or board free floating on the wall. The acrylic glass plate is characterized by a thickness of 6 mm. A particular depth achieved by modern direct printing systems. Printed on the back side of the acrylic plate. A white counterpressure is responsible for the color-fastness and the cover of the translucent background. Even without additional foils, this type of plate is extremely weather-and UV-resistant. The board also features a high stability. It may also be used in indoors and outdoors as pictures, billboards or advertising. Fasten your billboard with available mountings, simply free-floating on the wall. Design your work and living space as well as your presentations in a whole new way!

  4. PVC rigide form plate

    The hard foam plate works perfectly for large-sized advertising or photo prints. It convinces because of its light weight and low price. Because of the modern direct printing system with a special ink there is no longer the need of laminated foils. This printing system and the high quality colors guarantee UV-resistance and long-lasting color. The prints are also scratch resistant and weather resistant, making them suitable both for indoors and outdoors. The available mountings facilitates free floating mounting on the wall.

  5. GalleryPrint

    The GalleryPrint convinces by it's precious apperance. The high quality print is made on aluminum dibond. The board consists of two thin layers of aluminum and a plastic core. This causes high stability, the weather-resistance as well as the low weight of the board. The printing is done with UV-resistant, solvent free and non-toxic paint, which guarantees a long-lasting color and is gentle to the environment. Due to the UV- and weather-resistance, the Print Gallery is for indoor and outdoor use. The attachment of the GalleryPrint is facilitated by the mounting which is supplied free of charge.

  6. Photo canvas

    We are the only Öko-Tex certified manufacturer of photo canvases, as we are only using water-based ink which does not contain any polluting substances. This sublimation ink connects to the tissue and does not only make the micro-fiber canvas fabric waterproof, but also UV-resistant. The canvas frames are almost distortion free. As a picture on the canvas your photo can be mirrored on the frame, which eliminates white borders on the side. The canvas only weighs 330g/m² and is absolutely reflection-free and scratch-resistant. This makes it particularly interesting for conference rooms, hotels and your individual living space designing.

  7. Poster

    Printed on 210 g / m² high quality photo paper in high quality. This paper is distinguished by its excellent quality and is still waterproof. The cleaning is done with a damp cloth and leaves no residue on the special paper. Embellish your living room or use the paper as quickly replaceable advertising. As the printingis UV-resistant, it promises a long-lasting color brilliance. As a contribution to environmental protection only solvent-free and nontoxiccolors will be used.

  8. Poster laminated

    Laminated posters have very stylish appearance, which they get through the matte foil on the front. Also on the backside is a coating with adhesive foil or protection foils possible. Through the cold laminating the posters always remain colorfast. Due to the thickness of only 1 / 20 mm, the film does not interfere with the winding of the poster. For outdoor use, the spill-resistant poster is only partially suitable, since water can leak through the cutting edge and can weaken the poster. The cleaning is done by a damp microfibre cloth or persistent dirt may be removed with diluted alcohol or benzine.

  9. Adhesive foil

    The adhesive foil is characterized by its special nature and may be versatilely be used on doors, walls and other surfaces. The self-adhesive back side of the film guarantees a simple application and residue-free removal and multiple reuse. It consists of a mixed fabric made from cellulose and polyester, which makes it waterproof, weatherproof and UV-resistant. The adhesive foil is suitable for indoors, living space or for promotional activities. Even corners and curves as well as quickly changing the image's position, are no problem for the foil.

  10. Printing on wood
    Your picture is printed on a wooden surface made up of a number of solid wood laths laid side by side. After printing, these are then fastened on the back with two cross laths. The wood grain can be seen and felt, and makes looking at the finished effect a real experience.

    What makes a print on wood so special?
    Your item is made from one of the finest natural products there is –wood.  Unlike synthetic materials such as acrylic glass or aluminium, this material has properties that highlight the natural aspect of the material.

    Which properties make wood different from the more traditional materials used for printing?
    Wood is not a material that can be standardised. This means that every wood lath is different and has natural cracks and knots, always in different places. It is precisely these unique and natural qualities that make your product so exciting and unique, and which lend your picture its very own special individual style.

    How do I ensure that I can enjoy my print on wood for a long time to come?
    Wood reacts when it alternates between dampness and dryness. For instance, the laths may “warp”, i.e. become slightly misaligned as the wood “works”. For this reason, try to ensure that your picture is hung in a room that is as dry as possible and exposed to only slight changes in temperature and/or no alternating air conditions (damp, dry). The more constant the temperature and air condition, the better.
    These conditions are generally found in most homes.

Does Posterjack offer frames resp. framing?

  • Yes, we offer a variety of frames in different colours made of aluminium, wood or plastic.

    What do the measurements given refer to?
    The measurements given for the frame always refer to the size of the printed poster. This means that when, for example, you order a poster in the format 30 x 40 cm, the matching frame size with 30 x 40 cm is also stated.

    What are common standard formats for picture frames?
    The main formats are the traditional formats in the aspect ratio 3:2 (45 x 30 cm, 90 x 60 cm, etc.), in addition to the digital formats in the aspect ratio 4:3 (40 x 30 cm, 60 x 40 cm, 80 x 60 cm, etc.) These are the sizes generally produced when taking photos with standard cameras.
    Other formats we offer are:
    Format 1:1 (square, e.g. 60 x 60 cm)
    Panorama formats (e.g. 80 x 20)

    Do I need to frame my picture myself after delivery?
    No, your picture is delivered to your stated address framed and ready to hang.

    What form does the delivery take?
    You receive the posters you order already framed, i.e. they are ready to hung up!
    The frames are delivered in strong cardboard boxes to ensure they are not broken during transit. If, in spite of taking the utmost care, the consignment is damaged, simply refuse delivery of the package. If the goods are damaged, please contact our customer service department.

    Are all the frames supplied with the glass included?
    All our frames are supplied with the corresponding glazing. Depending on the frame size and material, the glazing is either acrylic or real glass.

    How does an order work?
    The order works in the same way as all products. You simply upload your picture, choose your favourite frame and submit your order. We deliver your framed picture within 6 – 9 working days.

    When do I need to trim my picture to size?
    When you upload a picture that does not match any of the given frame formats, you can accordingly adapt your picture to fit the frame format. To do this, go to point “2. Crop Picture” in the Edit section.

    What sort of delivery times can I expect?
    It normally takes between 6 and 9 working days for your picture to be delivered.

    How much do I pay for postage and packing?
    For deliveries within Germany, you pay postage and packing costs of € 5.98. (Important! For translations, please give the correct postage and packing charges for the respective country as indicated on the website!!!)

    Which materials can I order framed?
    The materials we frame are posters in either a semi-gloss or glossy finish.
    For this purpose, we use high-grade 210 g/m2 paper, printed with UV-resistant and smudge-proof ink.

    Can I buy frames separately?
    We currently only supply frames with printed posters. This enables us to offer the right frame to match any picture we print.

    How do I hang the frames on the wall?
    The method of hanging the frame on the wall depends on the wall material. Depending on the particular type of wall, a simple nail may suffice (wood, thick plasterboard, all manner of brick, sand-lime brick), or you may have to use a drill and plugs (thin plasterboard or concrete).
